Home.....More About Peru

W ith all the travel we did last week I've been wiped out. I rested Sunday after returning late Saturday, then worked from home Monday but have been in the office 9-hour days the rest of the week and catching up!  Thankful for the holiday today to catch up on things! Happy Fourth Everyone!!πŸŽ† Here is some more information on my time in Peru. We did  SO   much travel; a total of 6 flights in 7 days, plus   way too many   charter bus rides. ( I get motion sickness often, so the buses are not my favorite ). Some statistics from our week: 858 patients seen ( Medical & Dental ) 180 were Dental ( my team ) I personally pulled two teeth ! πŸ˜›Can't say I ever thought I would do that, but it was super cool!!! 1,344 Prescriptions filled 25 wheelchairs assembled and given to individuals in need Ministered to an Orphanage, Old folks home for abandoned older adults , a special needs school and the private Christian school that coordinated with us to hold the clinics. 9...

Home Again!

 It's hard to even know where to start, so I'll start at the beginning of the trip. I arrived at DFW at 5:15am on Saturday, June 21st. Didn't see anyone from the mission's team so checked in my bag and waited around. Finally, I saw a group of folks in the same shirt ( we were given matching tee-shirts to travel in ). At first, I couldn't understand why we needed to be there 3 hours prior to our flight time but that became abundantly clear! With a group of 57 people it takes a looooong time to tag bags, check them in, get boarding passes and finally get everyone through security. Along the way, I met a lovely lady named Tiffany who works with an organization called "Orphan Outreach" here in the DFW area. She was joining our team for ministry in Arequipa and also going to be meeting with folks about their work expanding into Peru.  She is a Co-Founder of Orphan Outreach.
